Manicure: shades of grey - Dior Junon

15/8/2016

Ok, before you think I am going crazy, let me tell you that I do know we are the 15th of August and that, technically, it´s summer time still...
But we are not in Barcelona right now and, somehow, here, in the South of France no less, the weather seems to be totally oblivious to the fact we are technically in summer and it started pouring down rain! >.<
So here is the thing, if life gives you lemons, you make lemonade so... I say, if the weather  decides to rain on you, get yourself a grey manicure :D
Ok, ok! I know, it was not a great pun to say the least, that´s all I could come up with in this gloomy weather, ok! Cut me some slack, please!
That being said you could also just let it go down the route of 50 shades of... well you know!

Back to the matter at stake: I used Essie´s Millionails Treatment to nourish the nail, before priming them with Chanel´s Base lissante.
The colour is Dior Junon 494 (from the Versailles collection), one coat! Yep you´re not misreading: I did write one coat! I also added Essie´s Pure Pearlfection on the ring finger and finished it all off with Dior´s Gel Topcoat.

I know it´s not a very summery shade but I just love it, it´s an all time favourite of mine. I find it really elegant and chic.

I hope you like it!

Essie Mint Candy Apple and Fidji - soft pink combination :)

2/8/2016

Today I have a sweet manucure really easy and quick to do. I think the color combination makes it all. Soft but vibrant pastel tones that just light each other up.

I used 2 very thin coats of white - Essie Blanc - to have a better colour pay off from the pastel tones. Then 2 very thin pink coats - Essie Fidji - on all fingers but the middle finger were I used Essie Mint Candy Apple as a base.

Then I just used the nail polish brush to draw the V shaped or french patterns randomly.

Finish it up and seal it all with a coat of top coat. The drawings are just stickers and optional.
For this look the most important is to use very thin coats of polish since to avoid ending up with a think mess!
