Skincare recommendation

Today I am posting a skincare review as a recommendation to my friend Janica, who asked me to recommend a good moisturizer. I am going an extra mile though and reviewing the products in detail in case others find it useful too.

Recommending a skin product is always a tricky thing to do, as you all know, not one of us has the same skin and as a result what works for me might not work for you and vice versa.

However there are some products that seem to return outstanding feedback each time you recommend them, so you start to think they are worth a try!

I am starting by recommending Kiehl's products because in addition of having a great quality/value rate, they will offer the advantage of trying the products without too much commitment to start with. Kiehl's has a worldwide policy that allows you to get a full refund or exchange a product within 30 days. Hence if you buy something, try it and it doesn't work you get another try another product of your voice in their range or you get your money back, no loss!

The first recommendation I'll make for Janica is the Midnight Recovery Concentrate. This is an incredible product. It's a concentrated oil that feels incredible, here is why I think it's a good choice to add to her skin routine.

1) It smells amaizing!

I know it seems unimportant at first glance but it is a great bonus. The fact it smells so good will encourage you to stick to using it!

Believe me, you'll be looking forward to applying it because it just feels like you are in spa before you go to bed!

Be warned: this thing is addictive regardless of how lazy you are to carry on a skin routine (thinking of myself here! I'm terrible!).

2) It's a quality product created with natural oils!

It gets absorbed instantly and just feeds your skin with the right stuff while you sleep, helping it to do a better job at regenerating itself during the night.

3) it's a product for all ages and all skin types.

It leaves no oily residue and it does not break you out even if you have oily skin.

Kiehl's outstanding duo: Midnight Recovery Concentrate & Powerful-Strength Line-reducing concentrate

The second one is the Powerful-Strength Line-reducing concentrate. It's a creamy serum. You can use it night and day to bring extra hydration and heal your skin.

I use it as a moisturizer on it's own but if you feel the need you can add a targeted moisturizer on top. Like an anti-age cream if your skin is more mature, a balancing moisturizer to fight breakouts or even a calming cream if you have sensitive skin.

Caudalie Huile Divine : Face, body and hair

The oil above is an amazing multitasker. It's super hydrating and smells very luxurious and elegant. The other bonus is that it lasts forever since you only use a very small quantity of product at a time.

On hair:

- use it overnight as a mask before washing it the next day

- on wet hair before drying it to protect and condition the hair

On the body:

- after the shower before drying my skin.

On the face:

- as a mask before a shower or even better in the bath.

Bioderma eau micellaire

There are 3 versions of this:

Sébium (green) mixt and greasy skin

Créaline (pink) sensitive skin

Hydrabio (blue) dehydrated sensitive skin

It's just gentle but efficient and good for your skin.

I can't explain: my skin is just better since I use this to take my make off and to clean my skin in the morning.

Thank you Mariazinha, I am going to follow your recommendations , first to see where they stock it. And I have another question , I have a smokey eye kit from benefit but I never seem to achieve the desired effect, what do you think of this product?

Querida Janica!!!
What skin type do you have and how does it behave during these cold months? For ex., my combination and eczema prone skin gets bone-dry during winter, whilst my T zone becomes shiny in summertime.
I'll be happy to investigate and to share the best of my knowledge with you all :) Thanks for your tips Mariazinha so far!

Hi Janica,
First of all you´re welcome!
Secondly: you can find Kiehls´s at Arnotts and Dundrum, djee! I loved shopping there!! :)
http://www.arnotts.ie/action/brandlist/Kiehls
http://www.dundrum.ie/stores/kiehls

Lastly but not least, I will look into the Benefit set for you and see if I can get you some ideas to get more out of it.
I use the Urban Decay Naked palettes a lot (I prefer number one and 2 more than the 3, because number three is gorgeous but mostly pink toned while the other two have golds and greys and browns that make them more polivalent). If you´re not too much into make up, I find them quite easy to do a one colour look just to bring light to your eyes during the day and add a bit more of darkness for a more glamorous look for the night.
I´ll make a post on those for you, while I look into the Benefit one ;)
By the way if any of your girls likes make up and they don´t have the Naked palettes get them one for Christmas they are missing out big time !!!
